Aromas of lemon zest, stone fruit cobbler, flint, and a hint of nutmeg. The palate is beautifully balanced with rich texture that comes from lees stirring and great length coming from the wonderful limestone-centric soils of the Waitaki. It is concentrated and finely detailed; full of character with youthful vibrancy. Chardonnay in the Waitaki is rare but worth seeking out. Made in minuscule quantities, this wine is a treasure to enjoy now but will continue to delight for years to come.

“2017 was one of those cool years with about 2.5 tonnes per hectare. From a financial point of view we don’t want too many cool vintages, however I do love them...well at least I love the wines they produce. Wines from the cooler years with lighter crops tend to be quite concentrated, are more complex with a broad flavour spectrum and great age ability.”
