Krug, Krug Vintage, Reims, Champagne, France, 2000

Every year since Maison Krug was founded in 1843, we have crafted remarkable champagnes, guided by a winemaking philosophy of individuality and patience.  All Krug champagnes that leave the cellar may be enjoyed now or saved for years to come.

At Maison Krug, every Krug Vintage celebrates the distinct character of a particular year – a blend of its most expressive wines, enhanced by a stay of over ten years in the cellars. Each Krug Vintage is different: it tells the story of the unique circumstances of the year, of what surprised, enchanted or moved our Tasting Committee in the tasting room.

Krug 2000 is a poetic dialogue between almost equal parts of Chardonnay (43%) and Pinot Noir (42%) with a touch of Meunier (15%). On the nose, aromas of caramel, nougat, hazelnut and freshly baked pastries fresh from the oven. On the palate, flavours of citrus fruit gratin, lime zest with a very long finish and persistence.
