This famous Pomerol property has been run by the Moueix family since the 1950s and produces a wine that is always a classic of the appellation and keenly sought-after. The vineyard is now 18.7 hectares after more parcels were purchased on the plateau of Pomerol and Château Providence amalgamated (the lesser plots - some 5 hectares - being relegated to Lagrange Pomerol). The vineyard is planted with 91% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and (rare for Pomerol) 3% Petit Verdot.
